Club's History

Established in 1955, Manning Tennis Club is committed to providing a great tennis experience to players of all levels while recognising the need to offer a fun social scene for non-players.

Initially based in a centre, consisting of four tennis courts and an old clubhouse, the club relocated to its current site at the corner of Griffin Crescent and Elderfield Road in 1987. As part of the club’s vision to provide and maintain the best tennis facility in the City of South Perth, it underwent a major upgrade and extension in program in 2000/01 and in 2002, MTC was awarded with the Inaugural ‘Tennis West Club of The Year’ and award it won again in 2016.

Currently the club has:

  • Six Macrocurl synthetic grass courts,

  • Four Plexipave hard courts,

  • All courts under lights.

  • A clubhouse (with kitchen, bar and entertainment area) that caters for Club members and the community.

  • Whilst catering to both the tennis and general community in the Salter Point, Manning, Waterford, Como and Mt Henry areas, the club welcomes anyone from anywhere as shown by our membership base which consists of a substantial number of members outside these local suburbs.

  • Mindful of our members and visitors ‘desires’, the club offers a range of tennis and non-tennis activities including:

  • Year-round playing opportunities

  • Competitive and social tennis during the week and weekend

  • Day and night tennis hire

  • A strong junior program

  • Numerous social events for everyone (members or non-members, tennis playing or non-tennis playing)

  • Tennis playing opportunities for all levels

  • Well-established and reputable professional tennis coaching service through Tennis Academy
